The capital, called Hora, is the heart of the island and the first image that welcomes the traveller, as it spreads amphitheatrically, from the harbour to the feet of the old Venetian Castle of the Guerini Dynasty.
Inside the castle there are 2 churches, all-white with artistic belltowers.
Other villages that one could visit are Maltezana, Livadi and Vathi, that looks like a lake.

You can start exploring the island's crystal waters from Pera Yialo (that has a sandy beach), and continue to Livadi, Ayios Vassilios, Tzanaki, Moura, Papou, and Ayios Konstantinos. Even further, you will find Vatses, Kaminakia, Ayios, Ioannis, Panormos, Pahia Ammo, while you can also swim in Deftero and Trito Marmari, in Maltezana beach, Schinonta, Vai, Karekli, Vrissi, Plakes, Steno, Psili Ammo.

A very interesting visit is in the Archaelogical Museum, in Skala-Pera Yialos, with findings from the Prehistoric Age up to Medieval Age.
